Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2024: A Record-Breaking Success with 780,000 Visitors and 2.8 Billion Baht in Revenue
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) reported a successful "Maha Songkran World Water Festival 2024" with over 780,000 visitors, including 81,000 foreign tourists, at Sanam Luang and Ratchadamnoen Avenue from April 11th to 15th.
The event offered various forms of entertainment, street food, and a parade, resulting in significant visitor numbers and revenue.
A woman reported that the event brought approximately 2.8 billion baht into the economy, generating around 742 million baht in tax revenue.
The majority of attendees discovered the event through social media, word of mouth, or television.
According to a survey, most Thai visitors were captivated by the sound and light show, while foreign visitors were impressed by the parade, facilities, and shopping options.
